SUMMARY

The Huskyson family was a noble - later royal - family of wanderers who served and later ascended to rule the Wandering Kingdom some 300 years prior to modern times. Believed to be descended from the old Husky Kings, the former rulers of the Kingdom of the Free, the Huskysons were a proud and strong family who led the Wandering Kingdom with a firm and just hand. The Huskyson family brought a great deal of much needed stability to the Wandering Kingdom, leading many historians to argue that the golden age of wanderers was under Huskyson rule.

The Huskyson family formally began under Lord Corpren, who came from no noble family himself but learned in later years that he was in fact a descendant of the last King of the Free. Corpren took the name Huskyson – a name all his family would come to bare – and would some years later ascend to become the first Huskyson King of Wanderers. For the next 300 years, the Huskysons would rule the Wandering Throne, their reign largely focused on maintaining alliances with other folk and ensuring security and reliability in the Throne’s power to rule. The status of both the kingdom and the Huskyson family suddenly came to a head when King Austil Huskyson, the last living member of the family, mysteriously disappeared.

Under traditional circumstances, the wanderers would’ve declared the reign of Huskyson Sovereigns ended, but loyalty and the laws of the land prevented that. The lands and planes of wanderer folk simply opted to seal themselves off from one another until either King Austil returned or a new Huskyson ascended to the throne. This began a very uncertain time for wanderers as a whole.

CULTURE

Huskysons tend to have a strong familial bond with one another, as well as having a strong sense of responsibility as high nobility – it has been rare for any Huskyson to become lazy and frail, unless alternative circumstances occurred. This sense of responsibility means that Huskysons are viewed as ‘trustworthy,’ meaning that while they rarely attempt to fight against their fellow nobility, they are also believed to be easy to manipulate. Generations of attempting to build up the Wandering Kingdom developed a strong sense of loyalty between the Huskysons and the common wanderers, however.

HUSKYSON FAMILY MEMBERS

Corpren Huskyson

    - loyal knight and friend in service to the last Dreygen king, Corpren was given his own nobility, but since he had no known connections to other families, he simply created his own, founding the Huskyson family. When the king went mad with power, Corpren was forced to murder him in the throne room to prevent him from massacring the people, thus ending Dreygen rule. Corpren would go on to lead the wanderers against the dragons during the Great Dragon Plague, and finally ascended as the next king after the conflict was finished.

Lano Huskyson

    - The younger brother of King Corpren. Like Corpren, Lano had no proper surname before, and assumed the new name Huskyson after Corpren chose to have it.

Kristen Huskyson

    - Corpren’s firstborn daughter, and successor. Queen Kristen was an able and gifted ruler of the Wandering Kingdom, reigning as the longest Huskyson Sovereign and being remembered as the most successful.

Norgam Huskyson

    - King of Wanderers for several years, before choosing to abdicate the throne in favor of his seemingly more capable younger brother. Norgam would go on to serve a militant order in combating some unknown evil that was threatening the planes.

Arlene Huskyson

    - Villowne’s mother and the former queen.

Villowne Huskyson

    - The youngest prince of his generation, Villowne was the sole survivor after the other Huskysons, who were meeting on one of the planes, died in a sudden and destructive earthquake. Some years after ascending, King Villowne suffered an accident which kept him bound to moving with a cane. Increasingly paranoid, Villowne ended up heavily involved in political business, attempting any trick to retain the throne in favor of his failing bloodline.

Austil Huskyson

    - King Villowne’s eldest son, Austil infamously ran away from home as a child, only to return a near-decade later. Austil’s reign, while promising, was overshadowed by the encroaching conflict known as Zaron’s Rebellion. King Austil ruled for about 5 years before he mysteriously disappeared, leaving the status of the throne in question.

Abilorn Huskyson

    - The younger brother of Austil, who vehemently desired the throne and rebelled against Austil’s rule. Killed by a spear in battle.

NOTES

    ·         The Huskysons claim descent from Antonian the Husky King, which is technically false as Antonian had no trueborn heirs.

    ·         Despite their high importance in modern times, the Huskysons are one of few noble families to have never held a land of their own – Corpren came from no nobility, and he ascended to the throne a few years after he was honored as the first Huskyson.

I'm sort of skipping steps, but hey it's all good. Been sort of sick lately, anyway.
